Diddy allegedly contacted witnesses from prison before potential legal proceedings.

Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing serious allegations of witness tampering while in custody awaiting his sex trafficking trial. Prosecutors claim the music mogul has been making “relentless efforts” to corruptly influence witness testimony through various means, including using other inmates’ telephone accounts and making three-way calls to contacts not on his approved list.

Currently detained in Manhattan, the 55-year-old has pleaded not guilty to all charges and strenuously denied any wrongdoing. Multiple judges have denied him bail, citing concerns about potential witness tampering. His lawyers recently proposed a $50 million bail package that would involve 24-hour security monitoring and house arrest, arguing that his detention is preventing him from adequately preparing for trial.

Prosecutors allege Combs has been orchestrating a sophisticated strategy to manipulate potential testimony and jury perception. They point to specific instances, including an Instagram statement by a “witness two” that they claim was drafted through multiple prison communications. The prosecutors suggest Combs may have even paid this witness after her statement was posted.

Additionally, they cited a birthday video posted by Combs’ seven children as part of a calculated public relations strategy. Prosecutors claim he monitored the video’s analytics and discussed with his family how to potentially influence potential jury members.

The legal troubles originated from a civil lawsuit filed by Combs’ ex-partner Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura in November, alleging rape and physical assault between 2007 and 2018. Although quickly settled, the lawsuit triggered further investigations and accusations.

Federal agents raided Combs’ properties in March, leading to his arrest in September. He faces three counts of sex trafficking and racketeering, with a federal indictment describing alleged “Freak Offs” – drug-fueled sexual performances. Simultaneously, he is confronting more than two dozen civil cases involving sexual assault, rape, and sexual exploitation allegations.

Prosecutors argue that “no set of conditions” could eliminate the risks associated with Combs’ potential trial interference. They claim he has an “uncanny ability” to manipulate employees, family members, and even prison inmates.

Combs has used at least eight other inmates’ phone accounts, violating prison regulations, and is accused of directing others to arrange these communications. Prosecutors characterize his actions as a deliberate scheme to contact and potentially intimidate potential witnesses.

The musician’s legal team has not yet responded to these specific allegations. Combs continues to maintain his innocence, insisting that all sexual encounters were consensual.

The case remains ongoing, with Combs currently held in custody and facing significant legal challenges that could potentially result in substantial criminal penalties.
