Adele Concludes Emotional Las Vegas Residency with Plans for Extended Break
British superstar Adele has completed her 100th and final show at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, marking the end of a two-year weekend residency that was both emotionally charged and memorable. During her final performance, Adele became visibly emotional, expressing her sadness about the residency ending while simultaneously feeling grateful for the experience.
The Las Vegas residency had a challenging start, initially scheduled for January 2022 but canceled just 24 hours before the first show due to a Covid outbreak and production delays. When it finally began later that year, Adele performed every Friday and Saturday, creating numerous memorable moments.
One particularly touching instance was her encounter with her idol Celine Dion, where she burst into tears upon seeing the legendary singer and subsequently shared a heartfelt hug in the Colosseum Theatre – the same venue where Dion debuted her residency in 2003.
Throughout her performances, Adele demonstrated her connection with fans. In one notable incident, she defended an enthusiastic audience member who was told to sit down, pausing her song “Water Under the Bridge” and instructing security to “leave him alone.” In another moment, she confronted an audience member who allegedly shouted “Pride sucks,” passionately defending inclusivity.

In July, she told German broadcaster ZDF that her “tank is quite empty” and she has no immediate plans for new music. “I miss everything about before I was famous,” she said, highlighting her desire to regain some anonymity. Despite her success, she finds the level of public interest “wild” and somewhat overwhelming.
Looking ahead, Adele has shared plans to pursue an online English Literature degree in 2025. She revealed that had she not become a successful singer, she might have become an English literature teacher. This academic pursuit represents a potential new chapter in her life after the intense Las Vegas residency.
Her final performance was a poignant moment of reflection. “I’m so sad this residency is over but I am so glad that it happened,” she told the audience. “I will miss it terribly, I will miss you terribly. I don’t know when I next want to perform again.”
With her remarkable career spanning hit albums like 19, 21, 25, and 30, Adele leaves her Las Vegas residency having solidified her status as one of the most compelling performers of her generation, while simultaneously preparing for a well-deserved break and potential new personal and creative endeavors.
