US Removes Ban on Importing Latest Apple Watch

Apple’s latest smartwatches, the Series 9 and Ultra 2, can now be sold in the US again after the company filed an emergency appeal. The US trade body had previously halted imports and sales of these watches due to a patent dispute with device maker Masimo. Apple had requested a stay on the ban until Customs and Border Protection (CBP) could review whether the redesigned versions of the watches violated Masimo’s patents. The US International Trade Commission (USITC) had found in October that Apple had infringed two patents owned by Masimo. Apple strongly disagreed with the USITC’s decision and is working to return the watches to customers in the US as soon as possible.
