Sony-owned videogame studio Insomniac has fallen victim to a ransomware attack, with hackers demanding $2 million to prevent the release of stolen information. The attack has resulted in the leaking of details about future releases and work-in-progress footage of Insomniac’s upcoming Wolverine game. The leaked information includes private employee data and internal company emails. Sony has yet to comment on the situation. Other game developers, journalists, and fans have condemned the attack and urged against sharing or republishing any of the leaked content. Ransomware group Rhysida has claimed responsibility for the attack, and it was also behind a similar attack on the British Library last month. This incident follows a previous leak of details about Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 6 last year.
