Netflix has released the first official images from its upcoming film, Scoop, which dramatizes the 2019 Newsnight interview between Prince Andrew and Emily Maitlis. The photos reveal the meticulous recreation of key scenes from the interview, with Rufus Sewell playing Prince Andrew and Gillian Anderson portraying Maitlis. The film is set to explore how the BBC Two program secured the interview and the behind-the-scenes drama. Sewell reportedly spent three hours in makeup to transform into Prince Andrew, while Anderson’s performance as Maitlis has been hailed as “astonishing” by producers. The film also stars Billie Piper, Keeley Hawes, and Romola Garai. Scoop is based on the book “Scoops: Behind the Scenes of the BBC’s Most Shocking Interviews” by former Newsnight producer Sam McAlister and will be available on Netflix in spring. Amazon Prime Video is also producing a series based on Maitlis’s memoirs, which will cover the Prince Andrew interview.
