In a tragic incident in Bristol, three young children including a 10-month old baby were found dead at a house. The children have been identified as Faris Alfil Bash, seven, Jory Alfil Bash, three, and baby Mohamed Alfil Bash. The police discovered them after responding to a welfare call in Sea Mills.

A 42-year-old woman has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder. The woman is currently in hospital in a non-life threatening condition. The causes of death for the children, found at a property in Blaise Walk, are yet to be determined. Forensic post-mortem examinations are scheduled for later this week.

The victims’ next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist family liaison officers. The police have appealed to the public for information as they embark on what is expected to be a sensitive and complex investigation.

The local community has been deeply affected by the incident, with St Edyth’s Church in Sea Mills opening its doors to those impacted. The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has been notified due to prior police contact earlier this month.

The police have reassured the public that the deaths are believed to be an isolated incident, with no ongoing risk to the wider community. Uniformed officers from the Neighbourhood Policing team will be present in the area in the coming days to provide reassurance and support.

Friends of the family expressed their shock and sadness at the tragic loss. They remembered the children as lovely and intelligent, and are seeking answers about how this could have happened.
