X temporarily suspends account of Alexei Navalny’s widow

Yulia Navalnaya’s account on X, formerly known as Twitter, was temporarily suspended after she posted a video vowing to continue her late husband’s campaigning efforts for a “free Russia”. The suspension was due to a system error, according to X, and her account was quickly reinstated. In the video, Navalnaya accused Russian authorities of withholding information about her husband’s death in a Russian prison. The Kremlin denied the accusation and stated that an investigation was ongoing. Navalnaya’s emotional video message garnered widespread attention and support from other users, leading to her account gaining over 100,000 followers. X’s guidelines state that accounts can be suspended for violating rules such as spam or abuse.
