Helldivers Boss Warns: Game Not for the Broke

Arrowhead Studios, the developer behind the popular game Helldivers 2, has advised fans not to spend all their money on the game. The online shooter game has been a huge success since its launch on 8 February, breaking player records for publisher Sony. However, the unexpected popularity has caused strain on the game’s servers, leading to difficulties for many players trying to log on.

Despite the server issues, sales of the game have not slowed down. Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt has recommended that players wait to purchase the game if they are short on cash. In Helldivers 2, players are part of a team of soldiers fighting off attacks from alien creatures on a distant planet. The game has received positive reviews from critics, with praise for its gameplay and references to 90s sci-fi satire Starship Troopers.

Although there have been server problems, the game has been well-received by gamers, particularly on PC. Arrowhead Studios is working to increase server capacity and resolve issues as quickly as possible. The success of Helldivers 2 follows the popularity of Palworld, a game described as “Pokemon with guns,” which also experienced high demand upon its release.

Arrowhead Studios acknowledges the challenges they are facing in meeting the demand for the game and are actively working to address these issues. They have temporarily limited the number of players allowed at once to alleviate strain on the servers. Despite these challenges, the company remains committed to providing a positive gaming experience for players.
