A trial project is currently taking place at the University of Edinburgh, allowing students to have their food delivered by robots. These autonomous vehicles, named Pixie, are capable of navigating private roads on campus. Students at the university’s King’s Building can conveniently order food or drinks through an app. The aim of this project is to showcase the potential of autonomous vehicles in various settings, including airports and the NHS. BBC Scotland News recently visited the University of Edinburgh to explore the progress made by a team of scientists in developing an autonomous food delivery robot.
